Un mineur se rend à Fengjie, un village qui va disparaître sous les flots suite à la construction du barrage des Trois-Gorges. Il veut retrouver son ex-femme qu'il n'a pas vue depuis seize ans. Une infirmière recherche également son mari qui est parti depuis deux ans.
A miner travels to Fengjie, a village soon to be submerged by the building of the Three Gorges Dam, to look for his ex-wife whom he has not seen in sixteen years. A nurse is also looking for her husband who hasn't come home in two years.
